Mission statement

Our purpose is to contribute to the visual well being of individuals by providing professional visual health monitoring and quality eye care products through excellence in customer service and workmanship.

Dr. Art Marchand’s optometric office is a multiservice office offering the best in eye care with the newest equipment to help diagnose vision problems and eye diseases.  The office also has a large selection of frames and lenses, in house lab and the newest contact lenses in stock.

Dr. Art Marchand-Optometrist - graduated in 1982 from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry.  Practicing in St Catharines since 1982.

Jodi Singleton - graduate of the optometric assistant course.  Jodi has been employed with Dr. Marchand since January 1989 and works in the dispensary helping patients choose the best frame and lenses for their prescription and lifestyle.  She also deals with the 3rd party insurance companies on behalf of patients.  Jodi is responsible for recalling patients for their annual or bi annual eye examinations.

Sandra Bernard - graduate of the optometric assistant course.  Sandra has been employed with Dr. Marchand since November 2001.  Sandra works in the dispensary assisting patients with choosing frames best for them.  She also does the frame buying for Dr. Marchand’s dispensary.

Lisa Arnold – currently taking the optometric assistant course.  Lisa has been employed with Dr. Marchand since April 2002.  She is responsible for the front desk.  Answering the telephone and in person inquires, booking appointments and directing the patient to the appropriate areas such as dispensary, pick up area and the pretesting area.

Annie Kozelj Holtam - graduate of the Optometric assistant and Ophthalmic Medical assistant courses.  Annie has been employed with Dr. Marchand since September 2003 but has been in the optometric field since 1999.  Annie is the contact lens technician for the office.

Lorrie Slade - currently taking the Optometric Assistant course.  Lorrie has been employed with Dr. Marchand since September 2004.  Lorrie is our friendly receptionist at the front desk.  She welcomes all patients as they enter the office and completes the paper work needed for their eye examinations.  Lorrie organizes and books referrals to ophthalmologists for our patients.

MaryAnn Beam - graduate of the Optometric Assistant course.  MaryAnn has been employed with Dr. Marchand since June 2005 but has been in the optometric field since 1996.  MaryAnn is responsible for pretesting all patients including medical history and any additional testing needed such as visual field testing and the optomap.

Ildiko Szolosi - graduate of the Optometric Assistant course and a licensed Optician but not in Canada.  Ildi has been employed with Dr. Marchand since January 2001 but has been in the optical field for 20 years, 16 of which she has been a lab technician.  Ildi is responsible for generating and edging all our lenses in our in house lab.
